Hosts in 1932 and 1984, Los Angeles, California is eight years away from welcoming the Olympic Games for a third time and its first Paralympic Games celebration - excitement continuing to build around the 2028 Games, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has unveiled the brand new ‘LA28’ logo inspired by the city’s creativity, diversity, self-expression and inclusion.

Showcasing the heart of Los Angles and what the city represents, athletes, artists and advocates collaborated on bringing the project to life, promoting community as a key building block in designing the logo.

As explained on the Official Olympic Games website, the logo’s foundation is built upon the striking L, 2 and 8 with the eye-catching, and ever-changing “A” celebrating the diverse and dynamic Southern Californian city.

“There has never been a more important time to give rise to athlete voices. Sports are a special part of our global culture, connecting people and fans across communities and around the world. The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be a platform for individual stories of triumph, heartbreak and opportunity as we recognise and revere humanity’s diversity and dreams for the future.” Casey Wasserman (LA28 Chairperson)

“The emblem perfectly represents the city’s energy, creativity and strong sense of community, whilst also celebrating the Olympic belief of unity in diversity. LA28 continues to create innovative ways to engage Angelenos and people from across the world in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The idea behind the emblem, and the expressions we have seen so far, truly demonstrate that we are stronger together.” Nicole Hoevertsz (LA28 Coordination Commission Chair)

The designs will be shared across the LA28 social media channels (@LA28) and on the new LA28 website (LA28.org).
