Do you have a background in Medical Science and keen to utilise your expertise in the unique environment of an Olympic Sports International Federation? If so, now is your chance to join the International Table Tennis Federation team in the position of ITTF Infection Control Specialist.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced the world to think ahead, the ITTF Infection Control Specialist will play a leading role in ensuring the safety of the athletes and everyone involved at future international table tennis events.

Reporting to the ITTF Competition Director, the ITTF Infection Control Specialist will be tasked with providing expertise and knowledge, while managing the implementation of health protocols at events.

“As the ITTF looks to recommence its activities, it is important to do it providing a safe environment for our ath-letes, officials and other involved people, keeping their health on top of our priorities. At the same time, ensuring compliance with the local authorities regulations and travel restrictions is a must. The incorporation of a specialist in infection control will help the ITTF to carefully plan a proper restart of our events, minimising the risk of infec-tions in the table tennis community.” – Raul Calin, ITTF Secretary General
The main responsibilities include:
  • Manage and ensure the ITTF Covid-19 Guidelines and other medical/health documents developed and assessed frequently.
  • Provide consultation for ITTF and the hosts of events in infection control protocols, from prevention to man-agement of infections.
  • Manage implementation of infection control protocols and standards for ITTF Events, as needed:
  • Manage and coordinate with hosts and their local government authorities for all matters relevant to protocols.
  • Manage online and onsite training for ITTF event and LOC staff on protocols.
  • Manage online and onsite training for ITTF event and LOC staff on protocols.
  • Manage internal and external communications on relevant enquiries.
  • Conduct facilities’ control on site to ensure they comply to the requirements and protocols.
  • Establish and ensure safe and effective flow of participants at ITTF events.
  • Manage the protocol in case there is a suspected or confirmed case at an ITTF Event.
  • The position will be with main focus on management of infections, with a long-term possibility for a wider medical/health role supporting ITTF’s regular operations.

Candidates for the position of ITTF Infection Control Specialist should hold relevant tertiary experience in Infections or Medical Science, with expertise in infections, and can be individual experts as well. Professional capacity to work in multiple languages and experience within the sport industry are desirable qualities.
