Two countries standout when it comes to African table tennis with Egypt and Nigeria very much considered the two powerhouses on the continent.

Celia Baah-Danso is looking to help Ghana join the conversation at the top and what better place to start turning the tide then at the 2019 All-Africa Games set to take place in Rabat, Morocco this September?

“My Coach is taking me through some tactical training for me to improve more on my skills and prepare for international competitions. I’m looking forward to being part of the team that would be selected to represent Ghana in the All Africa Games.” Celia Baah-Danso

Arguably her big moment so far on the international scene came last year at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Negotiating both Women’s Singles group stage encounters Celia Baah-Danso then produced an impressive effort in the Round of 32, beating Christy Bristol 4-1. However, her journey concluded one round later with eventual silver medallist Yu Mengyu proving too strong for the Ghanaian.

Making strides in her game and Celia Baah-Danso has great ambitions, dreaming of not just leading her country on the Olympic stage but also to one day bring home a medal for the event.

“My aim is not just to represent Ghana but also win a medal and qualify the country to the Olympic Games. That has always been the dream and this year, my coach and I have been preparing well to make that dream possible…” Celia Baah-Danso
