In recent years we have all seen that the countries of Latin America are moving in a positive forward direction with the development of table tennis. The development program and ITTF Scholarships have had a massive impact in terms of Coaching and junior development in the region.
With increased awareness of the importance to provide the players with high level professional events and the importance of Television, media and the need for further sponsorship, the ITTF under the auspices of the Development Program hosted a 3 day ITTF Marketing Course on the small coastal city of Salinita’s in El Salvador at the spectacular De-Cemeron resort.

Role Reversal of Previous Evening for Japanese Stars |

Japan’s Seiya Kishikawa and Jun Mizutani had experienced contrasting fortunes on the evening of Thursday 19th November at the Asian Championships in Lucknow.
The former had recorded a memorable victory over Ma Long in the final of the Men’s Team event against China; the latter had suffered excruciating pain losing to Xu Xin.
One day later, in the third round of the Men’s Singles event it was role reversal but not in quite such dramatic circumstances.
Pain and pleasure were both experienced.

No Surrender, Yuka Ishikagi Perform Recovery of the Day |

Never-say-die that was the approach of Japan’s Yuka Ishigaki in the third round of the Women’s Singles event at the Asian Championships in the Indian city of Lucknow on Friday 20th November 2009. She fought to the bitter end and was duly rewarded.
The Japanese player appeared to be heading for a straight games defeat against DPR Korea’s Kim Hye Song; the North Korea seemingly comfortable against the backspin skills of the young lady who won the Under 21 Women’s Singles title at the Volkswagen Pro Tour Grand Finals just under one year ago.
However, a sporting contest is never over until the finishing line is crossed, the final whistle blows or the last point is won.

So if Sharath Kamal Achanta, having established a two matches to nil lead against Wang Liqin in the quarter-final of the Men’s Team event at the Asian Championships when India met China on Wednesday 18th November 2009, had progressed to win, the fixture would have gone the full distance.
