Popularity Increases Alongside Membership
The website of the International Table Tennis Federation is one of the most popular of all in the field of sport.
In fact it is the second most popular of all international sports federations; it is second in the football (FIFA) and notably it is ahead of the International Olympic Committee!
It is quite stunning news and with the membership of the International Table Tennis Federation having grown to a record high of 215, the situation globally for the sport of table tennis is very healthy.

Peak Traffic
……The peak traffic during the GAC GROUP 2011 World Table Tennis Championships was reached on Saturday 14th May
……The second highest traffic was on Sunday 15th May
……The traffic on Monday 16th May (the day after the event) was equal to the traffic on Tuesday 10th May
……A slightly higher traffic overall than during the Championships in 2010 was reached; this was already a much higher traffic from previous years. The exact numbers will be clearer in a few days
……The GAC GROUP 2011 World Table Tennis Championships and the 2010 Liebherr World Team Championships are our peak traffic periods by far. The average traffic for a World Championships is more than double our average over the rest of the year.
……Our traffic increased leading to the GAC GROUP 2011 World Championships as follows (comparing during with period prior):
Seven Days +190%, One Month +82%, Three Months +24%
Ranking
……Our ranking (only top 100,000 websites are ranked) over the last three months is as follows: Seven Days 8,755, One Month 23,506, Three Months 30,528 This is the average ranking of the ITTF website over the last seven days (GAC GROUP 2011 World Table Tennis Championships) the average over the last month and over the last three months. It means that during the GAC GROUP 2011 World Table Tennis Championships the ITTF website was ranked No. 8,755 out of 100,000.
……For comparison, the IOC website is ranked on average during the past year of 64,277 out of 100,000 and even though it is the "best looking" site, and even though they are selecting the host city for 2018, the traffic on the site is dropping regularly with the exception of the 15 days during the summer and winter Olympic Games.
Comparison
……In comparison with Tennis (www.itftennis.org) the ITF (Tennis) website ranking in terms of traffic over the last 3 months is 38,648 out of 100,000 (compared to 30,528 for ITTF), so we have regained 2nd place amongst all International Federations, FIFA still remaining in No.1 spot with a position of 3,568 out of 100,000.
We are very far behind, or should I say, FIFA is far ahead of everyone.
Time Spent Visiting
……A very interesting statistic is the average time each person visiting our website spends on the website for each visit (this is excellent news for our advertisers.
…....Last Seven Days 12.46 mins per visit; Last Month 9.96; last Three Months 8.10
……Since this is an "average" it means our website is very "sticky", in other words the visitor spends a lot of time on the website.
……Compare with Tennis: Seven Days 5.78 mins per visit, One Month 5.07 mins, Three Months 5.02 mins
……. Compare with IOC: Seven Days 3.02 mins; One Month 2.75 mins; Three Months 2.95 mins
Excellent Value
Our website may not be the best looking, our website may not be the most attractive and most modern, but our website gives the best value to our advertisers and is the 2nd most popular website (after FIFA) amongst all International Federations websites, including the IOC's own website.
