Runner up just under two months ago in mid –June in the Colombian city of Medellin, Chile’s Juan Lamadrid won the Junior Boys’ Singles title at the Guatemala Junior and Cadet Open on Saturday 9th August.

In Medellin, he had let the opportunity of his first ever ITTF Junior Circuit Boys’ Singles title slip from his hands; after causing a semi-final upset by beating Argentina’s Fermin Tenti, the top seed, he made a lightning start in the final.

He won the first three games against Brazil’s Massao Kohatsu, only to lose the next three and suffer the anguish of defeat.

The Great Supporter, World Traveller, Welcomes Players to Ängby
08/10/2014

Nils Sandberg has supported the ITTF Junior Circuit from the very start

0
Few if any, arguably nobody, can match the support for the ITTF Junior Circuit more the Nils Sandberg, the man who makes Ängby Table Tennis Club possible; players from the Swedish club have travelled the world from the very start of the concept.

Furthermore, the club can boast two players who will be on duty at the forthcoming Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games; Elias Ranefur has been an Ängby player since he first held a table tennis bat, more recently Puerto Rico’s Brian Afanador joined the organisation.

Much travelled but equally Nils Sandberg is a fine host and he welcomes players to Sweden to compete in the Ängby International, supported by Stiga, the tournament will be staged from Thursday 30th October to Sunday 2nd November.

A celebration of sport; that was the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and nobody celebrated more than Scotland’s Gavin Rumgay.

Joining forces with Sean Doherty and Craig Howieson, in the first stage Men’s Team contest against Canada, he beat both André Ho and Pierre-Luc Theriault in three-matches to one victory.

Amidst a standing ovation in the 2,500 seater Scotstoun Sports Campus, Scotland’s top table tennis player lifted the sides of his shorts, revealed canary yellow and green striped underwear and set the tone for future successes.
