Under the auspices of the ITTF Development Programme, the course is being directed by El Savador's Carlos Esnard, the Technical Director of the Latin American Table Tennis Union. Home for the activities is the National Training Centre in Barranquita.

A total of 26 students have enrolled on the course of whom six are women.

Ten provinces – Santo Domingo, San Juan de la Maguana, Monte Plata, Duarte, Salcedo, Espaillat, La Vega, Valverde, Cotuí and Santiago – have sent coaches to attend the course.

However, not only have coaches from ten provinces in the Dominican Republic enrolled but there are representatives from New York, a city with which the Dominican Republic has close links, and Colombia.
