PRESIDENT'S FORUM Thank you to the table tennis fans Aug 3 2005 The International Olympic Committee (IOC) released the TV broadcasting statistics from the Athens Olympic Games and table tennis is in the top 5. Thank you to the table tennis fans around the world. After the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona table tennis was ranked 24th out of 26 summer sports in terms of TV coverage and number of viewers. After the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, table tennis is now 5th out of 28 summer sports. This is tremendous news for the ITTF and proves that the ITTF's strategy regarding television is working. The figures are based on number of hours broadcast by TV networks and number of viewers. It is interesting to note that Volleyball ranked first.
