In honor of the 40th anniversary of Ping-Pong Diplomacy the ITTF Museum is pleased to present
this wonderful photo of an exhuberant Glenn Cowan just after he steps into China. Glenn became a
central figure at the 1971 World Championships in Nagoya when he accidentally befriended China's
superstar, 3-time World Singles Champion Zhuang Zedong. The two exchanged gifts, setting the stage
for the historic invitations to several teams to visit China for a series of friendship exhibitions.
