Top seed and favourite for gold, Germany’s Timo Boll won the Men’s Singles title at the European Championships on Sunday 21st October 2012 and thus brought to a conclusion, proceedings in the Danish town of Herning to a conclusion.

Crowned European champion in Stuttgart in 2009, Denmark’s Michael Maze was beaten in the opening round of the Men’s Singles event at the current European Championships on Friday 19th October 2012.

Title Favourites Progress but Barbora Balazova and Sabine Winter Cause Upsets

The Slovak Republic’s Barbora Balazova and Germany’s Sabine Winter, both 20 years old, were the players to upset the seeding in the Women’s Singles event at the European Championships in the Danish town of Herning on Friday 19th October 2012.
