Korea’s Jang Woojin and Brazil’s Bruna Alexandre were the players to receive the respective Boys’ and Girls’ Fair Play Awards at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in Hyderabad on Sunday 16th December 2012.
Both were involved in heart breaking contests in the singles events; both, when defeated, showed the utmost good manners and controlled their emotions when deep inside, they must have been suffering agonies.

The runner up in Bratislava in 2010 and one year later in Bahrain in 2011, it was the same fate for China’s 17 year old Lin Gaoyuan at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in Hyderabad on Sunday 16th December 2012.
In Bratislava his nemesis was compatriot Song Hongyuan, in Bahrain it was Japan’s Koki Niwa, in Hyderabad again a player from China; after winning the opening two games in the final, he was beaten by Fan Zhendong.

The winner in Bratislava in 2010 but the runner up one year later in Bahrain, Zhu Yuling regained her Girls’ Singles title by emerging success at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in Hyderabad on the afternoon of Sunday 16th December 2012.
In Bratislava she had beaten Japan’s Kasumi Ishikawa in the final, in Bahrain she had suffered defeat at the hands of colleague Chen Meng; in Hyderabad she secured the top prize by overcoming doubles partner and second seed, Gu Yuting, at the fi.... |

Players who had faced each other in the Boys’ Singles semi-finals earlier in the day, on Sunday 16th December 2012, were partners in the Boys’ Doubles final at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in the Indian city of Hyderabad on Sunday 216th December 2012.
In fact all were colleagues; the four participants were all from China.

Winner of the Girls’ Singles title at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010, China’s Gu Yuting, in harness with her compatriot Zhu Yuling, donned the Girls’ Doubles crown at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in Hyderabad on Sunday 16th December 2012.
In clinching the title, she wrote her name indelibly into the history books of the tournament.
She has now won the title four times; not only four times but four times in succession.

Seemingly on the receiving end of a comprehensive defeat after the first two games of the Mixed Doubles final at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in Hyderabad, on the early afternoon of Sunday 16th December 2012, Fan Zhendong and Liu Gaoyang made a quite staggering recovery to secure the top prize.
The second seeds, they recovered from a two games to nil and a three games to one deficit against compatriots Lin Gaoyuan and Gu Ruochen, the top seeds, to secure victory.

Lin Gaoyuan and Fan Zhendong, the respective second and fifth seeds, booked their places in the Boys’ Singles final at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships, following semi-final successes on the morning of Sunday 16th December 2012.
Fan Zhendong beat Fan Shengpeng in five (11-5, 11-6, 11-6, 4-11, 11-4) before Lin Gaoyang overcame Xu Chenhao in a full distance seven games duel (11-4, 14-12, 7-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-5, 11-6).
