The host nation’s Hugo Calderano and Karina Hayama secured the respective Junior Boys’ and Junior Girls’ Singles titles at the Brazil Junior and Cadet Open, which concluded in the city of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday 23rd September 2012.
Success for Hugo Calderano was as anticipated.
He is now a seasoned campaigner on the international scene and he was the top seed; for the young man who hails from Rio de Janeiro it was his third ITTF Junior Boys’ Singles title of the year.

The host nation’s Massao Kohatsu was the player to cause the one upset of note in the first phase of proceedings at the Brazil Junior and Cadet Open in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday 22nd September 2012.
He excelled to beat Argentina’s Juan Daher, the no.4 seed, in four games (15-13, 10-12, 12-10, 11-9), finishing the day unbeaten and thus in first place in the group.

Welcome visitors to the Brazil Junior and Cadet Open, currently being staged at CEFAN, the Physical Education Training Centre for the Brazilian Navy in Rio de Janeiro named after Adalaberto Nuñes, were members of the State Grid Company.
The party was led by Yu Ziniu, the company’s Administrative Manager.
A large global company with headquarters in Beijing and a work force of some one and a half million employees, they are the major supplier of electricity in Asia.

The top two seeds in the Junior Boys’ Team event at the Brazil Junior and Cadet Open in Rio de Janeiro, both enjoyed a trouble free day in the first phase of proceedings on Thursday 20th September 2012.
