Sheer delight, sheer class; strokes as smooth as silk, Liu Gaoyang won the Junior Girls’ Singles title at the China Junior and Cadet Open in Taicang on Sunday 30th September 2012, to add to her success the previous week on Chengdu.
The 16 year old who completed a clean sweep of titles at the ITTF Cadet Challenge in Puerto Rico, earlier in the year in January, was imperious as she strode to her second ITTF Junior Circuit Girls’ Singles title in consecutive weeks.

Beaten in the first phase of proceedings in the Junior Boys’ Singles event and thus a second placed finish; but in the second stage, the main draw, there was no stopping the host nation’s Zhang Jiete on Saturday 29th September 2012 at the China Junior and Cadet Open in Taicang.
The top seed in the Junior Boys’ Singles and Cadet Boys’ Singles events, he duly booked his place in the semi-final stage of proceedings, in both competitions, in a most emphatic manner.

The host nation’s Li Zhuoming, Chen Peng and Zhao Ke in addition to Korea’s Han Ohyeon and Chinese Taipei’s Wang Yi-Ju were the players to cause the upsets, as play commenced in the singles events at the China Junior and Cadet Open in Taicang on Friday 28th September 2012.
All four beat seeded opposition, with pride of place going to Li Zhuoming.

Gold, silver and bronze was the order of the day for the host nation in the Junior Boys’ Team event at the China Junior and Cadet Open in Taicang on Thursday 27th September 2012.
China ‘A’ represented by Liu Dingsguo and Wei Shihao finished in first place ahead of China ‘B’ Team colleagues, Chen Haowen and Li Xiang with the China ‘C’ pairing of Tian Yuan and Zhu Cheng in third place.
Similarly, in the Junior Girls’ Team event, China emerged as the dominant force.

Runner up in the Junior Boys’ Singles event at the Nikon Hong Kong Junior and Cadet Open in August, 15 year old Zhang Jiete guided China ‘A’ to success in the Cadet Boys’ Team event at the China Junior and Cadet Open in Taicang on Thursday 27th September 2012.

The winner of the Junior Boys’ Singles titles on the ITTF Junior Circuit earlier in the year in Guatemala and El Salvador, Chinese Taipei’s 14 year old Huang Chien-Tu was the one player to cause the host nation problems on the opening day of play, Wednesday 26th September 2012, at the China Junior Open in Taicang.
Against China ‘C’, in the Cadet Boys’ Team event, he hit form.
He accounted for both Heng Yinhao (11-6, 11-2, 11-4) and Guan Zeyu (11-8, 11-13, 11-6, 11-1).
