Xu Xin Adds to Title Haul but Zhou Yu Provides the Sternest of Challenges |

The winner earlier in the day of the Men’s Doubles title, in harness with colleague Fang Bo, China’s Xu Xin completed the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Koltsovo Russian Open on Sunday 16th September, as the five day tournament’s most successful player.
He brought matters to a conclusion in the Uralochka Sports Stadium by beating compatriot Zhou Yu to clinch the Men’s Singles crown.
It was a win that was very much as expected, Xu Xin was the top seed and he leads the GAC GROUP 2012.... |

Feng Yalan Wins Battle of World Junior Champions to Add to Kuwait Success |

Winner earlier in the year in Kuwait, Feng Yalan repeated the success of February, at the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Koltsovo Russian Open in Ekaterinburg on Sunday 16th September.
In an all Chinese final, which saw two former World Junior champions in action, the power of Feng Yalan, the no.1 seed, prevailed against Chang Chenchen, the no.8 seed.

Top seeds, Fang Bo and Xu Xin, justified their exalted place in the draw at the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Koltsovo Russian Open in Ekaterinburg, by winning the Men’s Doubles title without at any stage of the proceedings being extended the full seven games distance.
A combination comprising two players with mighty forehands proved unstoppable. The left handed pen-holder Xu Xin, with long raking stroke alongside the explosive power of the right handed shake-hands grip, Fang Bo, emerged.... |

Occupying the fourth seeded place in the draw, the partnership of Chang Chenchen and Rao Jingwen emerged as the somewhat surprise winners of the Women’s Doubles event at the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Koltsovo Russian Open in Ekaterinburg on the afternoon of Sunday 16th September.

The host nation’s hopes at the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Koltsovo Russian Open ended late on the morning of Sunday 16th September when the brave run of 23 year Mikhail Paykov came to a close.
He was beaten at the semi-final stage of the Men’s Singles event by 20 year old Zhou Yu of China.

Winner of the Girls’ Singles event at the first ever ITTF Junior Circuit Finals, staged in the Swedish capital city of Stockholm ten years ago in 2012, China’s Chang Chenchen upset the seeding at the semi-final stage of the Women’s Singles event at the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour China Open on the morning of Sunday 16th September.

A total of 16 seeded players commenced proceedings in the Men’s Singles event at the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Koltsovo Russian Open in Ekaterinburg on Friday 14th September; when play closed one day later only one remained.
China’s Xu Xin, the top seed, was the only member of the illustrious club to book his place in the semi-finals; all others perished.
Xu Xin beat Yan An, the no.9 seed (11-2, 11-9, 11-7, 11-8) and thus gained revenge for the defeat he had suffered just over.... |
