Matters went according to status in the Junior Girls’ Singles event at the United States Junior and Cadet Open in Grand Rapids, as matters progressed to the semi-final stage on Tuesday 3rd July 2012.

The host nation’s 12 year old Kunal Chodri was the young man to attract the attention on the third day of proceedings at the United States Junior and Cadet Open in Grand Rapids on Monday 2nd July 2012.
He caused the upset of the day by beating Chinese Taipei’s Huang Lien-Chung, the no.7 seed, in the first phase of the Junior Boys’ Singles event. Responding to the challenge, he succeed by the very narrowest of margins in the decisive fifth game (11-6, 12-14, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9).

Chinese Taipei dominated the boys’ events at the United States Junior and Cadet Open in Grand Rapids on Sunday 1st July 2012; they won both team titles on offer and they secured the top step of the medal podium in the most impressive manner possible.
Not one individual match was surrendered by either team, as they marched inexorably to gold; thus thoroughly justifying their top seeded positions in the draw.
