No previous history of success on the international scene; however that has now changed.
On her very first appearance on the ITTF Junior Circuit, Japan’s 16 year old Shiho Matsudaira stunned everyone. She won the Junior Girls’ Singles title at the Spanish Junior and Cadet Open in Castell-Platja d’Aro on Sunday 13th July 2012.

Masataka Morizono Reigns in Spain, a Hat-Trick of Titles in Castell-Platja d’Aro |

The winner earlier in the week of the Junior Boys’ Team title with compatriot Kenta Tazoe, 17 year old Masataka Morizono emerged as the most successful player over the five days of play at the Spanish Junior and Cadet Open in Castell-Platja d’Aro.
On the concluding day of action, Sunday 13th May 2012, he won the Junior Boys’ Singles title having earlier in the proceedings captured the Junior Boys’ Doubles crown with Kenta Tazoe.

Leading Lights Prevail but Not All Seeds Shine in Castell-Platja d'Aro |

Brazil’s Hugo Calderano, Hong Kong’s Chiu Chung Hei, Hungary’s Tamas Lakatos and Japan’s Masataka Morizono, the respective top four seeds, all booked places in the quarter-final stage of the Junior Boys’ Singles event at the Spanish Junior and Cadet Open in the Catalan resort of Platja d’Aro.
All were successful in the early stages on Saturday 12th May 2012.
Similarly, for Hugo Calderano’s colleague, Eric Jouti, the no.7 seed, a place in the last eight was duly claimed.

The host nation’s top seeded Maria Xiao duly booked her place in the quarter-finals of the Junior Girls’ Singles event at the Spanish Junior and Cadet Open in Castell-Platja d’Aro, as a result of her efforts on Saturday 12th May 2012.
Similarly, Hong Kong’s Doo Hoi Kem and Austria’s Sofia Polcanova, the respective second and third seeds, also advanced as did Doo Hoi Kem’s compatriot, Li Ching Wan, the no.5 seed.

Success came in the team events for the Japanese duo of 17 year old Masataka Morizono and for 16 year old Shiho Matsudaira at the Spanish Junior and Cadet Open in Castell-Platja d’Aro.
On Thursday 10th May 2012 both stood proudly on the top step of the medal podium in the Palau d'Esports
Masataka Morizono partnered Kenta Tazoe to success in the Junior Boys’ Team competition.
