Ma Long Clinches Asian Men’s Singles Title with Breathtaking Performance |

Winner of four Men’s Singles in a space of three months on the ITTF Pro Tour in 2011 plus in November the victor at the Grand Finals; Ma Long won the Men’s Singles title at the Asian Championships in Macau on Thursday 1st March 2012.
In the final, he overcame the only player to have beaten him since he lost to compatriot, Ma Lin, in the final at the Volkswagen China Open in early June 2011.

Ding Ning and Guo Yan Resists Singaporean Challenge to Win in Macau |

Runners up at the World Championships in both 2009 and 2011; China’s Ding Ning and Guo Yan won the Women’s Doubles title at the Asian Championships in Macau on the evening of Thursday 1st March 2012.
The no.1 seeds, at the final hurdle they overcame the fifth seeded Singaporean partnership of Li Jiawei and Sun Beibei in six games to arrest the title (11-7, 11-4, 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-3).
It was their most severe challenge of the whole tournament.

Victories for Ma Long, Zhang Jike and Xu Xin at the quarter-final stage of the Men’s Singles event at the Asian Championships in Macau, early on the afternoon of Thursday 1st March 2012, made absolutely sure that all four places on the medal podium would be occupied by China.
Ma Long, the no.1 seed beat Chinese Taipei’s Chuang Chih-Yuan, the no.7 seed to start the Chinese juggernaut rolling; he recorded a five games victory (12-14, 11-5, 11-5, 11-7, 11-6).

Again Guo Yan Celebrates in Macau, Three Visits, Three Women’s Singles Titles |

Winner of the Women’s World Cup in Urumqi in 2006 and in Kuala Lumpur four years later, Guo Yan won the Women’s Singles title at the Asian Championships in Macau on Wednesday 29th February 2012; in so doing she completed a hat-trick of titles in the Special Administrative Region of China.
In December 2009 and January 2010, she clinched the Women’s Singles title at the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals; one both occasions the tournament was staged in Macau.

Gao Ning and Yang Zi Win Asian Championships Men’s Doubles Crown |

Winners of the Men’s Doubles title at the Volkswagen Pro Tour Grand Finals in 2008 in Macau; Singapore’s Gao Ning and Yang Zi once again celebrated success in Special Administrative Region of China.
In December 2008 in Macau, they had enjoyed one of their greatest successes when beating Chinese Taipei’s Chuang Chih-Yuan and Wu Chih-Chi at the final hurdle to capture the coveted crown.

The backbone of Korea’s quarter-final win in the Men’s Team event at the Asian Championships in Macau, earlier in the week, Seo Hyun Deok was the player to attract the attention in the fourth round of the Men’s Singles competition on the afternoon of Wednesday 29th February 2012.

Jang Song Man Causes One and Only Third Round Men’s Singles Surprise |

Defeat for Hong Kong’s Jiang Tianyi was the one and only surprise in the third round of the Men’s Singles event at the Asian Championships in Macau on Wednesday 29th February 2012.
Currently listed at no.47 on the Men’s World Rankings and the no.11 seed in Macau, he was beaten by Jang Song Man from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Jang Song Man, not seeded in the Men’s Singles event at the Asian Championships and listed at no.85 on the Men’s World Rankings, was in form.
