The winner in 2009, absent injured one year later, 22 year old Ma Long regained his Men’s Singles crown at the Harmony China Open in Suzhou on the evening of Sunday 28th August 2011.
He overcame compatriot Zhang Jike to bring matters to a conclusion in the southern Chinese city.
Seeded no.4, Ma Long beat the reigning World champion and no.3 seed in six games (11-8, 9-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-7, 11-5) to win his first ITTF Pro Tour Men’s Singles title of the year.

Winner of the Women’s Doubles title earlier in the day, 29 year old Guo Yan added to her tally of success at the Harmony China Open in Suzhou, late in the evening of Sunday 28th August 2011.
She beat Ding Ning in seven games to clinch her second ITTF Pro Tour Women’s Singles title of the year and the sixth of her career.
Add two successes in the end of year ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals, both gained in Macau, and eight is the overall total.

On Saturday 20th August 2011, Xu Xin beat Yan An in the Men’s Singles final at the World University Games in Shenzhen to complete a clean sweep of titles for China in the table tennis events at the multi-sport gathering.
Furthermore 21 year old Xu Xin won comfortably against this 18 year old adversary; a straight games success was the end result.
