Hungary Revisited, Frenchman the Shock Winner in Hodonin

The no.16 seed at the Hungarian Cadet Open in Tata in January, Alexandre Cassin of France was the shock winner of the Cadet Boys’ Singles title.

Two weeks later, in not too far distant Hodonin, the 12 year old repeated the success; he won the Cadet Boys’ Singles event at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open on Sunday 6th February 2011.

Furthermore, as in Tata, he was the no.16 seed!

It was yet another success for France, the trio of Antoine Hachard, Stéphane Quaiche and Dorian Nicolle having won the Junior Boys’ Team title earlier in the week.....

Ekaterina Guseva, the Golden Girl on Final Day at Czech Junior and Cadet Open

Russia’s 15 year old Ekaterina Guseva emerged as the most successful player on the concluding day of action, at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open in Hodonin, on Sunday 6th February 2011.

Seeded no.1, she secured the Cadet Girls’ Singles crown and, in the same exalted position in the draw, won the Cadet Girls’ Doubles crown in partnership with compatriot, Daria Chernova.

It was the third title of the tournament for Ekaterina Guseva; earlier in the proceedings she had partnered Daria Chernova to Cadet Girls' Team gold.....

Impressive Russians Capture Both Junior and Cadet Girls’ Team Gold in Hodonin

Russia emerged as the most successful nation in the Girls’ Team events at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open in Hodonin on Saturday 5th February 2011.

They secured both titles on offer.

The trio of Anna Rossikhina, Yana Noskova and Anna Blazhko won the Junior Girls’ Team title, with the partnership of Daria Chernova and Ekaterina Guseva securing gold in the Cadet Girls’ Team competition.

Both teams occupied the top seeded place in the draw but both teams had no time for complacency on route to the top prize.

Top Seeds Survive Tough Tests to Collect Boys’ Team Titles in Czech Republic

Represented by 16 year old Antoine Hachard and 17 year old Stéphane Quaiche, France `A’ captured the Junior Boys’ Team title at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open Championships in Hodonin on Saturday 5th February 2011; thus justifying their top seeded position in the event.

Similarly, in the Cadet Boys’ Team event it was success for the no.1 seeds, with the Slovakian partnership of Patrik Vlacuska and Peter Turcek striking gold.

However, the path to the top step of the medal podium was by no means comfortable; both teams were tested.....

Host Nation Trio Spring Junior Girls’ Team Surprise on Third Day in Hodonin

Spurred forward by their home supporters, the host nation’s trio of Dagmar Baskova, Karin Adamkova and Katerina Tomaovska caused the biggest upset in the Junior Girls’ Team event at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open in Hodonin on Friday 4th February 2011, the third day of action.

They beating the fourth seeded Serbian outfit of Anelia Lupulesku, Dijana Holok and Eva Tot in the group stage of proceedings.

The Czech trio recorded a nail-biting three matches to two victory, after earlier in the proceedings having accounted for the Slovakia `B’ team outfit comprising Silvia Selicka, Adriana Cisarikova and Lubica Barciakova by three matches to nil.....

Top Two Seeds Survive but Next Two Exit in Boys’ Team Event Opening Round

Represented by Stéphane Quaiche, Antoine Hachard and Dorian Nicholle, top seeds France `A’ duly progressed to the quarter-finals of the Junior Boys’ Team event at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open in Hodonin of Friday 4th January 2011.

However they suffered a scare but not to the extent experienced by the next three outfits in the pecking order.

Seconds seeds Russia `A’ with Philipp Kuimov, Alexandr Zhelubenkov and Nikita Kirillov on duty, experienced defeat in the group stage but progressed to the main draw in second place.

Bernadette Szocs Shines to Win Czech Junior Girls' Crown in Style

Success came the way of Romania in the Junior Girls’ Singles event at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open in Hodonin on Thursday 3rd February 2011 with 15 year old Bernadette Szocs securing the top prize.

Seeded no.1, she justified her exalted position in the draw by overcoming Portugal’s fourth seeded, Maria Xiao, in the final.

It was for both players a step up the ladder after their exploits at the Werner Schlager Academy in Austria one week earlier. ....
