Rising Asian Stars to the Fore as Chinese Taipei Dominates Tunis Boys’ Events |

Tunisia Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF Junior Circuit
Chinese Taipei dominated the boys’ events on the final day of play, Sunday 2nd May 2010, at the Tunisia Junior Open in the country’s capital city of Tunis.
They captured three of the four titles on offer with a series of very impressive performances from their teenage stars. Hung Tze-Hsiang won the Boys’ Singles crown, Lee Chia-Sheng secured the Cadet Boys’ Singles title with the pair adding to their tally by joining forces to claim gold in the Boys’ Doubles competition.
The one male title to elude their grasp was in the Cadet Boys’ Doubles, where Japan’s Yuto Higashi and Masahiro Otsuka combined to beat Egypt’s Shady Magdy and Mahmoud Nabil in close five games final. |

Tunisia Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF Junior Circuit
The runner up in 2008 at the French Junior Open in Vern sur Seiche and a dangerous adversary on the ITTF Junior Circuit since she made her debut at the United Arab Emirates Junior Open in Al-Ain in 2006; Hong Kong’s 17 year old Ng Wing Nam celebrated in Tunis on Sunday 1st May 2010.
Eventually secured the top prize in a Girls’ Singles event on the ITTF Junior Circuit by emerging victorious at the Tunisia Junior Open; clinching gold without ever beinmg stretched the full seven games distance at any stage of the proceedings.
Seeded no.1, she overcame compatriot Lee Ho Ching, the no.3 seed, in six games at the final hurdle to secure victory. |

Tunisia Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF Junior Circuit
The highly seeded players, in both the Boys’ and Girls’ Singles events at the Tunisia Junior and Cadet Open in Tunis, emerged successful in the group stage of proceedings on Saturday 1st May 2010.
In the Boys’ Singles event the respective top four seeds: Chinese Taipei’s Hung Tzu-Hsiang, Hong Kong’s Chiu Ching Hei, Egypt’s Khalid Assar and Lee Chia-Sheng all secured impressive victories.
None had to suffer the perils of a deciding fifth game.
However, for fifth seed, Tunisia’s Adem Hmam, he was extended the full distance by Egypt’s Muhamed Alsharif; whilst the next two in the pecking order all came through with comparative ease. |

Japan with Masahiro Otsuka and Yuto Higashi on duty captured the Boys’ Team title at the Tunisia Junior Open on Friday 30th April 2010, to once again underline the excellence of the coaching systems employed in Asia.
Seeded no.2, they overcame top seeds, Egypt `A’ at the final hurdle with Yuto Higashi the backbone of success.
He beat both Khalid Assar and Karim El-Shaarawy, whilst teaming with Masahiro Otsuksa to clinch the doubles; the one Egyptian success came from Khalid Assar in the opening contest of the final. He defeated Masahiro Otsuka in three straight games. |

An undefeated performance by the stylish Lee Ho Ching paved the way for Hong Kong `B’ to capture the Girls’ team title at the Tunisia Junior Open on Friday 30th April 2010.
Seeded no.2, at the final hurdle they overcame their compatriots and top seeds Hong Kong `A’ by three matches to one with Lee Ho Ching steering her side to victory.
She commenced proceedings by beating Guan Meng Yuan and brought matters to a conclusion by defeating Ng Wing Nam; sandwiched in between she partnered Ng Ka Yee to doubles success.

Hong Kong dominated matters on the first day of play, Thursday 29th April 2010, in the Girls’ Team event at the Tunisia Junior Open staged in the country’s capital city of Tunis.
Occupying the top two seeded positions, the Hong Kong `A’ Team of Ng Wing Nam and Guan Meng Yuan was never troubled, recording three-nil wins over Egypt `B’ (Omnia Adel, Yousra Helmy) and Algeria (Fatiha Bouclaras, Chahinez Bougadoum, Yasmine Nasri).
Similarly, represented by Lee Ho Ching and Ng Ka Yee, the Hong Kong `B’ team showed their pedigree; their high level of technical skills were very much to the fore as they recorded a series of impressive victories. |

The top two seeded outfits in the Boys’ Team event at the Tunisia Junior Open, in the country’s principal city of Tunis, both booked semi-final final places following a successful opening day on Thursday 29th April 2010.
Represented by Khalid Assar and Karim El-Shaarawy; Egypt `A’, the no.1 seeds progressed as did Japan `A’, the no.2 seeds with Naoki Matsuda and Yuto Higashi in action.
In the group stage, Khalid Assar and Karim El-Shaarawy overcame Mohamed Lazazi and Yaniss Douifi representing Algeria `A’ by three matches to nil before recording a three-one success against the Tunisia `B’ team of Ben Hmida Anas and Oussama Chaeib. |
