Emilien Vanrossomme and Britt Eerland Secure Places in Singapore |

YOG International Qualification Event 1 (Asia event)
Belgium’s Emilien Vanrossomme and Britt Eerland of the Netherlands, both 15 years old and both players who celebrate their 16th birthday later this month, won the Boys’ and Girls’ Singles titles at Youth Olympic Games Qualification tournament in Manama, Bahrain’s principal city, on Sunday 7th February 2010.
The victories mean that they now reserve places in the Youth Olympic Games table tennis events to be staged in Singapore in August 2010.
Both occupied the no.1 seeded position in the draw and both confirmed that exalted status by finishing on the top step of the medal podium.

Fifteen year old Alice Loveridge was the player to catch the eye on Saturday 6th February 2010 in the Girls’ Singles event at the Youth Olympic Games International Qualificaton Event One (Asia) in Manama, the principal city in Bahrain.
In the opening stage, the young lady from Guernsey, a British Crown Dependency in the English Channel off the coast of French coast of Normandy and with a population of less than 70,000, excelled.
She beat third seed, India’s Mallika Bhandarkar in a hard fought five games encounter to assure herself of a place in the second stage of proceedings. |

Top Three Seeds Confirm Status but Iranian Springs Surprise |

Top three seeds Belgium’s Emilien Vanrossomme, Croatia’s Luka Fucec and Italy’s Leonardo Mutti, all emerged unbeaten on Saturday 6th February 2010 in the first stage of the Boys’ Singles event at the Youth Olympic Games International Qualification Event One (Asia).
However in Manama, for fourth seed, Tunisia’s Adem Hmam there was a surprise in store.
He was beaten by Iran’s Alireza Molarajabi In the closest match of the day. The Iranian won a nerve tingling tussle to finish confirm a place in the last eight. |

YOG International Qualification Event 1 (Asia event)
On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th February 2010, following the conclusion of the Bahrain Junior & Cadet Open; the city of Manama will host the first international qualification event for the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
It promises to be a nerve tingling event.
A total of 14 boys and 14 girls will be drawn into four groups; the group matches will be played on Saturday 6th February 2010 and will be best of five games. |
