Egypt’s Omar Assar, the number two seed, won the Boys’ Singles event at the Congo Brazzaville Junior Open on Sunday 23rd September 2007 to secure his first ever Boys’ Singles crown on the ITTF World Junior Circuit.
Furthermore, he assured himself of a place in the prestigious ITTF World Junior Circuit Finals in October to be staged in the splendid South African city of Cape Town.

The leading players in both the Boys’ Singles and Boys’ Doubles events came through the third day of play, Saturday 22nd September 2007, at the Congo Brazzaville Junior Open Championships without too many alarm bells ringing.
In the Boys’ Singles event the top four seeds all enjoyed success. There were few problems for Croatia’s Borna Kovac, Egypt’s Omar Assar, Australia’s Trent Carter and Sweden’s Simon Linderoth.

They captured the title in fine style with comfortable three-nil victories being the order of the day on each occasion.
The quality of their play shone through as they showed Asian excellence and gave a lesson in technical skills to the rapidly improving African nations.

Egypt’s Omar Assar and Mohammed Tarek El-Sobky won the Boys’ Team title at the Congo Brazzaville Junior Open on Friday 21st September 2007 beating the combination of Croatia’s Borna Kovac and Australia’s Trent Carter at the final hurdle.
Furthermore, the duo enjoyed outstanding form throughout the team event.

Sabine Yako was the player to steal the show in the Girls’ Team event at the Congo Brazzaville Junior Open on Thursday 20th September 2007.
She remained unbeaten to steer Congo Brazzaville `A’ to top spot in Group `A’ ahead of South Africa and Cong Democratic `B’
