The top four seeds in the Womenís Singles event at the Harmony China Open is Suzhou, all from the host nation Ė Li Xiaoxia, Ding Ning, Guo Yan, Guo Yue Ė stamped their authority on proceedings at the semi-final stage in the most emphatic way possible.

On the evening of Saturday 27th August 2011, when faced with foreign opposition they took no prisoners; when faced with one of their very own, the pecking order ruled.

It was a series of quite awesome performance from the quartet who proved themselves a level about adversaries.....

Chinese Taipei Celebrates, Golden Day for Chen Chien-An and Cheng I-Ching

Wins for 20 year old Chen Chien-An and 19 year old Cheng I-Ching at the Harmony China Open in Suzhou on Saturday 27th August 2011, signalled celebration time for Chinese Taipei.

The duo emerged as the surprise winners of the respective Under 21 Menís and Under 21 Womenís Singles titles, both beating higher seeded opposition to clinch gold.

Chen Chien-An, the eighth seed overcame Japanís fifth seeded Koki Niwa in five games (11-7, 17-15, 11-4, 9-11, 11-6) at the final hurdle; whilst at the same stage, fifth seeded, Cheng I-Ching defeated Koreaís sixth seeded, Jeon Ji Hee in seven games (12-10, 12-10, 11-2, 9-11, 7-11, 7-11, 11-5).....

China Imposes Authority on Doubles Proceedings to Guarantee Gold and Silver

The Menís and Womenís Doubles titles at the Harmony China Open are destined for the host nation; that is the one clear fact following the semi-finals in Suzhou on Saturday 27th August 2011.

In the Womenís Doubles penultimate round matches Guo Yan and Guo Yue succeeded as did Ding Ning and Li Xiaoxia.

Soon after, it was the same scenario in the Menís Doubles contests to determine which pairs would be present on the concluding day of action.

Wang Hao Departs, Yan An Stuns Suzhou Crowd at Harmony China Open

Runner up in the Boysí Singles event at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in 2009, when beaten by compatriot Fang Bo, 18 year old Yan An excelled all expectations in Suzhou on Saturday 27th August 2011.

He caused the one upset in the third round of the Menís Singles event at the Harmony China Open and he caused an upset of seismic proportions.

In five games he beat Chinese National Team compatriot, Wang Hao, the no.1 seed to book a place in the quarter-finals in only his third appearance on the ITTF Pro Tour.....

Matters went exactly according to status in the third round of the Womenís Singles event at the Harmony China Open in Suzhou on Saturday 27th August 2011; the higher ranked player emerged victorious in all eight duels.

Furthermore, none of the eventual victors was extended the full seven games distance; any thoughts of upsets were quickly extinguished.

Notably the host nationís Wen Jia and Koreaís Jeon Ji Hee, players who have excelled this year, were put firmly in their places.....

An amazing first round win over Chinaís reigning Olympic champion, the superb Ma Lin; Aleksey Liventsov maintained his outstanding form to cause a further upset in the Menís Singles event at the Harmony China Open in Suzhou.

He beat Koreaís Seo Hyun Deok, the no.19 seed in five games (2-11, 11-6, 13-11, 11-5, 11-7) to book his place in the third round.....

Fluent in Suzhou, Kim Min Seok Learns from Spanish Lesson in Almeira

Early in the afternoon of Sunday 10th April 2011 in the southern Spanish city of Almeria, Koreaís Kim Min Seok held one match point in the seventh game in his Menís Singles semi-final duel against the top seed, Vladimir Samsonov of Belarus.

He went for glory, the forehand topspin directed down the parallel to the forehand of his adversary flew long; the chance had gone, Vladimir Samsonov won the next two points and thus progressed to the final at the Spanish Open.

Just over four months later the chance came again for 19 year old Kim Min Seok; in the third round of the Menís Singles event at the Harmony China Open in Suzhou, he faced Vladimir Samsonov once again.....
