Claude Bergeret Formerly Presented with Chevalier Award

Earlier in the year in January, Claude Bergeret was named in the Legion of Honour published by the French government.
Recently, she was formerly presented with the award of Chevalier (Knight) at an official ceremony in Paris.
The presentation was made by Fabien Canu who gained sporting fame in Judo.
He was crowned World Champion in 1987 in Essen and in 1989 in Belgrade; whilst on three occasions he was anointed European champion; he won on three consecutive occasions; in 1987 in Paris, the following year in Pamplona and in 1989 in Helsinki.
Ministerial Responsibility In March 2006 he was given the responsibility of organising the Olympic and Paralympic Preparation Programme which contains a group experts who to assist and advise national federations.
Outstanding Contribution The award recognises the outstanding contribution made to the sport of table tennis by Claude Bergeret.
Partnering Jacques Secretin, she won the Mixed Doubles title at the World Championships in Birmingham in 1977; whilst later becoming heavily involved in coaching, event management roles in France as well as being a prime mover for the ITTF Women’s Forum and a member of the ITTF Executive Committee.
