A place in the Olympic Games is the prize; gold, silver or bronze, simply being an Olympian is a medal in itself.
The opportunity to be present at the ExCel Arena in late July is sufficient motivation; no further source is needed but a moment of inspiration may be needed to secure the desired goal.
A moment of inspiration to fulfil aspirations; the venue where that is possible is the Aspire Zone in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar. In that state-of-the-art setting that the final Olympic Qualification Tournament for the table tennis events at the London 2012 Olympic Games will be staged.
The four day tournament will commence on Thursday 10th May and conclude on Sunday 13th May 2012.
Final World Olympic Qualification The 2012 Final World Olympic Qualification Tournament will feature Men’s singles and Women’s singles events.
Prize Fund The International Table Tennis Federation offers a prize fund of 16,000.00 Euros.
Maximum Number of Entries Each National Olympic Committee has the right to enter three players in each event; less for each event, the number of players already qualified for the Games of the XXX Olympiad.
Deadlines Preliminary entry forms should be returned by Sunday 15th April 2012 with final entry forms returned by Monday 30th April 2012. Visas request has to be submitted non later 15th April 2012.
