Matters are now in an advanced state of preparation for the 2011 Qatar Peace and Sport Cup, with the likes of Chinaís Chen Qi and Cao Zhen, Koreaís Ryu Seung Min and Kim Kyung Ah plus Japanís Kaii Yoshida, all in action to provide sporting excellence of the highest calibre.
All are players who have won medals at World Championships; all are players who have ITTF Pro Tour titles to their credit.
In Doha on Tuesday 22nd November, they will demonstrate their skills to the full in the splendid surroundings of the Qatar Sports club, the home in Doha for the now firmly established Qatar Open.
The draw for the competition will take place in two stages.
At the ITTF Executive Committee Meeting, at the Volkswagen World Junior Championships in Bahrain on Saturday 19th November, the pairings will be determined.
Soon after the doubles partnerships will be announced.
One day later, at 5.00pm on Sunday 20th November 2011 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha, the draw will take place.
In each of the menís and womenís events there is a total of five pairs, therefore one quarter-final will be staged followed by semi-finals and final.
Following the draw, a Press Conference will be held at 6.00pm, with an official dinner being organised, the following day, at 7.00pm on Monday 21st November.
The Press Conference and Dinner will also be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
All matches, both Men's and Women's Doubles, will be played on Tuesday 22nd November.
