The Volkswagen Women’s World Cup to be held in Chengdu, China from 28th to 30th September 2007 will have an added attraction.

A fashion contest will be held with manufacturers invited to submit innovative designs to enhance the image of table tennis and therefore make the sport more appealing to television viewers.

The aim is to encourage more attractive clothing and persuade players to wear innovative attire that dispels an out-of-date image and promotes fashionable trends. In modern parlance let’s make table tennis `cool’.
