Racket Control Training Sessions Set for Suzhou |

Prior to the Harmony China Open; Racket Control Training Sessions will be held on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th August 2010.
The training will take place in Suzhou with matters organised by the International Table Tennis Federation, in co-operation with the Chinese Table Tennis Association; the Harmony China Open which follows will take place from Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd August 2010.
It is anticipated that the first day will be devoted principally to theory and the second day mainly to practical work. Training is offered to Blue Badge Umpires, International Umpires, National Umpires and Referees. |

Spanish Association Signs Contract with Indian Manufacturer STAG |

The Spanish Table Tennis Association and the Indian company STAG have signed a contract for the next two years. In 2010 and 2011, STAG will be the official sponsor of the Spanish association.
STAG will provide clothes for all Spanish Cadet, Junior, Senior and Veterans teams and will also support the organisation of the national competitions with flooring, tables, surrounds and others. |

DHS Supplies the Balls for ITTF Pro Tour |

The Chinese table tennis equipment manufacturer Shanghai Double Happiness Co. Ltd. (DHS) has won the bid to supply the “Official Ball” for the ITTF Pro Tour and Pro Tour Grand Finals.
The agreement signed with TMS International starts in 2010 and will run until the end of 2012. |

The ITTF Competition Department, the Equipment Committee and the Umpires & Referees Committee hereby announce and distribute the Directives and the Technical Leaflet T9 for the Racket Control procedures. The two documents are based on the present ITTF Regulations for International Competitions and updated according to the decisions of the ITTF Executive Committee on racket testing protocols that are in place. The Electronic Nose Designed to Sniff Out Volatile Organic Compounds |
3/8/2007
1st September 2008 is the date agreed by the ITTF Board of Directors at the 2006 Liebherr World Team Championships in Bremen when the use of glues, which contain Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s), will no longer be allowed for affixing racket coverings to blades.
Volatile Organic Compounds have been present in `speed glues’ since the 1970s; the chemical reaction having the effect of providing greater speed and spin when contact is made with the table tennis ball. |
