3rd Farum Danish Open

 

 

The mayor of Farum Mr Lars Carpens and the President of the Danish Table Tennis Association, Mr. Aksel Beckmann has the pleasure of inviting your team to participate in the Farum Danish Open – an ITTF Pro-Tour major Event which will be held from 21. – 24. November 2002 in Farum, Denmark.

 

Enclosed you will find all information about this event as well as the preliminary entry form, which we thank you to return not later than the 15 October 2002 and the definitive entry form which has to be returned to us at 1 November 2002 at the latest.

Venue:                        Farum Arena. Farum is situated about 25 kilometres from Copenhagen Airport

Events:                       Men’s single (MS), Women’s single (WS), Men’s doubles (MD), Women’s double (WD), Mens Singles under 21 (MS-U21), Womens singles under 21 (WS-U21)

 

Preliminary

Schedule:                    Wednesday 20 November – qualification if needed.

                                   Thursday 21 Qualification, Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November – tournament

The tournament will be played on 8 tables and other 8 tables are available in the training hall.

 

System of play:           Qualification matches in Men’s and Women’s Singles will be played in Round Robin groups with up to 4 players in each group, matches will be best of seven games.

 

Qualification matches in doubles will be played as straight knock out, matches will be best of five games.

 

Qualification matches in the U21-events will be played in Round Robin Groups with up to 4 players, matches will be played best of five games.

 

All singles/doubles in the main tournament will be best of seven games.



Draw:                          The draw will be conducted by the Referee Mr. Steen Andersen and the ITTF-Competition manager. The draw will be done according to the Regulations applying for ITTF Pro-Tour.

                                   According to Danish law, the names of all prize winners have to be reported to the Danish Tax authorities.

Hospitality:                  We will offer one ¬¬¬ hotel and one ¬¬¬¬ hotels.

The hospitality includes hotel, full board and transportation.
Other expenses (room service fee, telephone fee etc.) shall be borne by the participants or his/hers
association.

 

Transportation:            Free transport service from/to Copenhagen Airport or Railway station. ONLY if arrival information is given before 1 November 2002.
Shuttle bus service between the official hotels and the playing hall.

Entry Fee/

Payment:                    If your association do not want to buy our accommodation package, your participants have to pay an entry fee of DKK 850 per. person.

                                   The cost for hospitality have to be paid not later than the 1 November 2002. Please transfer the amount to:

Each federation h
as to pay for all its participants, we cannot accept payment by any individuals.

Visa:                           If you need a visa to enter Denmark, you must obtain it from a Danish governmental establishment (Danish embassies and consulates general) in your country prior to leaving for Denmark. Please notice that it sometimes takes several weeks to obtain a visa.
