Korean success

Chatham, England,10 February 2001. Going to Europe and playing Pro Tour at the English Open for the first time the players from DPR Korea took the first win, showing that if they have the opportunity they really can compete on an international level.

KIM Hyang Mi and KIM Hyon Hui won the women’s doubles at the Sportingbet.co.uk English Open beating the Japanese sisters Miyuki and Yuka Nishii 21-18, 21-13.

The Koreans are playing a really strong double, aggressive and punishing every week ball from the opponents. The Japanese never got their game going – and the Koreans never hesitated.

Having already one title KIM Hyon Hui can take one more in women’s singles playing the final later on Sunday.
