Korean success continues

Kobe, Japan, 24 September 2001. Korean table tennis had great success at the SMK Korea Open last week – the success is continuing here in Kobe, Japan.

The Koreans are present in all 4 finals on Monday, and they already won the first title in the women’s doubles when KIM Kyung Ah/ KIM Bok Rae defeated the two World top players WANG Nan (CHN) and Tamara BOROS (CRO) who paired up only for this occasion.

The two defensive Koreans may not have the same skills as their World top opponents, but they play well together and never throw any points away. In this final you couldn’t say the same about WANG/BOROS.

BOROS already lost to KIM Kyung Ah in the singles, but the Croatian was not the only one having problems with the Korean defensive. Also WANG Nan made plenty of errors, and the Koreans took easily the title winning 4-0.
