Koreans simply too strong

Farum, Denmark, 2 December 2001. The Koreans missed out in men’s singles at the Farum Danish Open but in doubles they succeeded. KIM Taek Soo and OH Sang Eun took the title beating MA Lin/WANG Hao (CHN) in the final.

The two Koreans are playing doubles at a World class level and the Chinese couldn’t follow them. Maybe MA Lin was mentally tired after winning the men’s singles final and maybe the young WANG Hao is still missing some international experience.

The Koreans went to 3-0 before the Chinese could reply. They won a single game, but then it was over. The Koreans went to 10-6 in the 5th and on the second match point WANG Hao missed a back hand topspin – KIM and OH can now call themselves Danish Open Champions.

With the victory the Koreans went to the 3rd place in the Pro Tour standings.
