Honkong pair almost did it

Seoul, Korea, 18 September 2001. KONG Linghui and LIU Guoliang took together the title in men’s doubles after both missing the singles opportunity.

In men’s doubles KONG and LIU faced CHEUNG Yuk/LEUNG Chu Yan (HKG). The game of the Hongkong Chinese doesn’t look much, but it surely is effective and they profit from each and every opening given to them.

The Hongkong pair took a 3-0 lead and they really had the chance going up 7-2 in the 5^th game, but suddenly they apparently started to have doubts: Is this really true, are we taking the title???

Their game fell apart and KONG/LIU immediately took the opportunity. They came back to take 3 games in a row to win the match.
