The Olympic Champion and the World Champion WANG Nan (CHN) is still the reigning queen of China – and the World – as far as table tennis is concerned.

WANG Nan on Saturday won the women’s singles at the Dawei Pro Tour Grand Finals showing the younger Chinese that they still need to improve their game in order to beat her.

NIU Jianfeng, 20 years old, was the challenger in the final. NIU won the women’s singles at the US Open and 4 doubles Pro tour titles in 2001 together with BAI Yang.

In the final she showed her potential, but she couldn’t really scare WANG though  she won two games.

At 2-2 though WANG took a step forward and won the next two games 11-3, 11-1 to finish the match and take the title and the first prize of 26.000 US Dollars. NIU Jianfeng had to settle with 13.000 USD.
