SCHOPP GETS THE OPPORTUNITY

Nr. 11 on the Pro Tour standings in women’s singles KIM Moo Kyo (KOR) has cancelled her participation in the Grand Finals in Tianjin, China, which gives the opportunity to the experienced German Jie SCHOPP.

SCHOPP stopped playing with the national German team but she had an excellent autumn and performed very well at the German Open where she reached the final before she lost to RYU Jie Hye (KOR). At the Dutch Open she had to pull out because of a leg injury and the points she did not get in Rotterdam placed her as nr. 17 on the Pro Tour Standings. Now the defensive German gets a chance anyway.

KIM was qualified in doubles as well together with her compatriot RYU Ji Hye. RYU is going to play anyway though since she actually was in the top 8 with two different partners. She was nr. 2 with KIM – but nr. 4 with LEE Eun Sil (KOR). Now the pair RAY/LEE will play the finals next week.
