RYU OUSTED SCHLAGER

RYU Seung Min (KOR) had some very good results at the last Pro Tour events in 2001 and he seems to have kept his good form – in his first match at the Grand Finals he ousted the Austrian Werner SCHLAGER 4-2.

RYU started out as a lion, and before SCHLAGER woke up he was down 3-0. The Austrian recovered and though RYU had a match point already in the 5^th game SCHLAGER came back to 2-3.

In the 6^th game though SCHLAGER was in trouble all the way. He was down 6-2 and 8-5 and at 10-7 RYU left no doubt taking the last point and the match.

“What I did was just not good enough. RYU played well in the first three games – because I let him. Normally I have no problems keeping up with him but today was no good” says SCHLAGER who has another chance on Friday in doubles together with Karl JINDRAK.
