The North Koreans KIM Hyon Hui
and KIM Hyang Mi came to the Grand Finals with a Pro Tour title (English
Open) and they are still in for another title. On Friday they advanced to
the semi finals by beating the South Korean defensive pair KIM Kyung Ah/KIM
Bok Rae.
The two South Koreans play a real
solid defensive, but the North Koreans turned out to know how to handle
them. With the left handed KIM Hyon Hui as the most aggressive in the pair
they were constantly changing speed and length of their game to make the
South Koreans run.
Kim Hyon Hui/KIM Hyang Mi went to
3-1 and they had 6-2 in the 5th. After a time out the South
Koreans came back and they even had a game point.
The North Koreans though stayed
calm and KIM Hyang Mi took the last point to 13-11 by killing a high ball.
In the semi finals they will meet
the Japanese FUJINUMA Ai/HIURA Reiko who overcame LIU Jia/Judit HERCZIG
(AUT) 4-2 though the Austrians were up 2-1.
