One more World top doubles pair was sent home from the Grand Finals on Friday. CHIANG Peng-Lung/CHANG Yen-Shu (TPE) – winner of several ITTF Pro Tour events – lost to the Hongkong pair CHEUNG Yuk/LEUNG Chu Yan.

When CHIANG and CHANG are really on the road, they are very difficult to stop but in Tianjin it never worked for them.

A major part of the credit for that has to be given to CHEUNG and LEUNG. Their game is not that spectacular, but they are clever at the table and they don’t make silly mistakes.

Against CHIANG and CHANG that was more than enough. The Hongkong pair took the 1^st – marathon – game 20-18 and after that they looked like the winners all the way home.

In the semi finals they will meet Aleksander KARAKASEVIC/Slobodan GRUJIC (YUG) who easily overcame the Danes Allan BENTSEN/Finn TUGWELL 4-1.
