KIM Taek Soo and OH Sang Eun (KOR) became the first title winners at the Dawei Pro Tour Grand Finals in Tianjin. Together they won the men’s doubles by beating CHEUNG Yuk/LEUNG Chu Yan (HKG) 4-1.

Last year the Koreans were just one inch away from victory in the Grand Finals in Yokohama where they lost to WANG Liqin/YAN Sen (CHN) – this year they left no doubt. 

Some might say that they were lucky that WANG Liqin/YAN Sen lost in the first round and that also an other top pair CHIANG Peng LUNG/CHANG Chu Yuan (TPE) was ousted in the first round, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Koreans were the strongest pair during this weekend.

They took out the nr. 1 on the Pro Tour Standings, Timo BOLL/Zoltan FEJER-KONNERTH (GER) and in the final they proved to be too strong for CHEUNG Yuk/LEUNG Chu Yan.

The HONGKONG pair qualified as the last pair at the Farum Danish Open in December. At the Dawei Grand Finals they proved to have developed into a doubles pair able to compete with the best in the World.
