| 800-30 Player Ask for Referee on Point of Law (long) |
- Player Behavior:
Player objects to an umpire’s decision on a point of Law – faulting a serve for a racket going below the table - or any matter outside the jurisdiction of the Umpire or Assistant Umpire (Assistant Umpire awarding a point penalty to a player) and requests an appeal to the Referee immediately before the next point is played.
- Umpire action:
On an appeal on a point of Law, the umpire must consult with the Referee before the next point is played. The Referee may let stand or overturn the outcome of a rally based on the facts supporting the point of Law or based on decisions made by the Umpire or Assistant Umpire in areas outside of their jurisdiction. Play must continue as soon as the Referee renders a decision.
