- Service rule: 2.6.4
From the start of service until it is struck, the ball shall be above the level of the playing surface and behind the server's end line;
- Player action:
The ball in the free hand did not start behind the end line. Even though it was struck behind the end line that is an improper service action.
During service, the ball was also hidden from the receiver.
- Umpire action:
Fault serve.
Advise player that the ball must start and stay behind the end line during the service action.
