Amidst the rapid spread of COVID-19 around the world, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and Polish Table Tennis Association (PZTS) had held open communication over recent weeks to monitor and discuss the situation.

The ITTF Challenge Polish Open went ahead, as originally planned, based on the fact that no restriction from local government or authorities was in place.

Following the conclusion of the second day of qualification (Thursday 12 March 2020) the ITTF was informed by the PZTS that the event has been suspended with immediate effect.

The ITTF recommends to all National Associations with players entered at the event to make new travel arrangements to return to their base.
