Located in Central Thailand, to the west of Bangkok and bordering Myanmar, the province of Ratchaburi was the home for a recent ITTF/PTT Level One Course.

Organised under the umbrella of the ITTF Development Programme, proceedings commenced on Monday 17th July and concluded on Friday 21st July; the expert on duty was Korakij Sermkijseree, one of the country’s national coaches.

Thailand is no stranger to ITTF Development Programme Courses; in fact Korakij Sermkijseree was a student on the first such course staged in Thailand in November 2000.

Now almost 17 years later, in 2017 it was another first. It was the first time in the country that such a course had been conducted by a native Thai course conductor; Korakij Sermkijseree having earlier attended a Course Conductors Course led by Richard McAfee

“Thank you very much to Mr. Richard McAfee, he gave me a great deal of good advice which helped in my first venture as an ITTF Course Conductor. Now after I have finished this course I fell more confident. Also I learned from the coaches, it was good to lead the course and exchange ideas with the course members.” Korakij Sermkijseree

Overall 30 students attended with no less than 26 course members meeting the necessary requirement to gain the award.
