The Liebherr 2017 World Championships is a month away, but maybe we should start looking towards the future when the table tennis might just be happening out of this world.

The International Space Station made its first live 4K video broadcast this week and the first images beamed down to earth were of astronauts having a game of space ping pong. Using a floating bubble of water and some paddles, the astronauts demonstrated the difficulties and joys of a zero gravity environment; the biggest problem they had was keeping their makeshift ball in one piece.

Next stop, Mars. Table Tennis for everyone, everywhere.
