With the 2017 ITTF World Cadet Challenge being staged in Fiji later this year, some of the cadets might want to start considering leaving some luggage behind.

The Cadet Singles continues to be a showcase of talent as Finn Luu is going in to the final day of the Cadet Boys’ Singles as the only undefeated player in the.

The biggest win of the day came against teammate Noah Kim. With only one place for each nation reserved in the team representing Oceania at the World Cadet Challenge, the match may prove pivotal in deciding which Aussie will be coming back to Fiji later in the year.

Not only is a place in the Oceania team at stake, but also the places on the podium.  Luu will be playing Ronan Aubry (NCL) tomorrow in a gold medal deciding match. A win for Luu will secure him gold, but if Aubry comes up with the goods, it could see the Cadet Boys’ medals determined in a three way count back.

In the Girl’s Singles New Zealand’s Jiayi Zhou has only dropped one game heading in to her final match and has the title locked-up.

With Sue Bin Oh (AUS) securing silver, it will be between top seed Grace Yee (FIJ) and second seed Lorie La (NCL) to fight it out for the final place on the podium.
